The Cotton Pygmy-goose is one of Australia's smallest ducks, second only to the Green Pygmy-goose.
Whilst the Cotton Pygmy-goose is abundant in parts of Asia, the Australian race, 'Nettapus coromandelianus albipennis', is listed as Near Threatened.
